BA, Registered Psychotherapist (Qualifying)About Molly Book Molly online today

The word “professional” can describe a therapist in one of two very different ways.  In the first meaning, the therapist tries to keep their personal experiences and perspectives completely out of the therapy setting, and tries never to “bring their work home” with them.  Here, the wall is thick.  In the second way, the therapist is professional in being calm, communicative, and courteous, but doesn’t act clinical. They bring their personal experience into discussions with their clients, and often chew on their clients’ challenges while not in the “office.” Here, the wall is thin.

If you prefer the second kind of professionalism over the first, you and I may be a great fit for each other. Though I am a student (i.e. “qualifying”) therapist, in my professional career so far I have found it’s helpful if you and I form a deep personal rapport. It’s important that we relate to each other, or at least that you know I “get” your specific challenges so that you don’t need to explain everything.

What challenges do I understand well?  Anxiety-related issues, LGBTQ+ concerns, life transitions, and relationship issues (family or intimate) are some of the challenges I can help you navigate.  If you consider “lived experience” with any of those issues to be a plus, I may be the therapist for you.

You are the expert in your own life, but sometimes you want a second opinion – one that’s unbiased in some ways, and one that’s constructively biased in other ways.  Though I won’t claim to be an impartial referee (I’ll always be in your corner), we will create a space where you can explore your thoughts and emotions freely, without judgment, and at a pace that’s right for you.

You can contact me today to schedule a free discussion.

Why are my therapy rates “affordable”?

During our first meeting, we’ll discuss your goals and ensure I am a good fit for your needs before booking a full session.  If you’d like, we can also discuss a fee structure that works for you.  Though I’m experienced in life and in helping people, I’m still working on getting a certain number of hours in a formal therapy setting – hence my ability to offer therapy at a lower rate for now.

By the way, If you or someone you know might benefit from therapy and is interested in this opportunity, please don’t hesitate to send them the link to this page. We can work on your and/or their challenges in an exceptionally easygoing, low-pressure setting.
