ADHD Assessments for Adults

We work in partnership with Psychotherapy Matters Virtual Clinic (PMVC), where our therapists collaborate with a psychiatrist, in coordination with a family doctor to provide reduced wait times, recommendations for medication, on-going psychotherapy, and a clear structured plan for the path forward.

This program is for individuals 16 years old and older.

How the process works:

ADHD Assessment Process

Why do your assessment with Spacious Mind Counselling?

Our therapists will work with you to discover and cope with undesirable feelings and behaviours. We’re not here to “cure” your ADHD, but instead, figure out how you can come to appreciate it as part of who you are, figure out what patterns you fall into, and help you notice patterns so you can change them for the better. You can apply immediately many of the skills we work on, but those can also have a lasting benefit.

Our therapists are trained in CBT, DBT, emotion-focused therapy, and more modalities that can be used in combination to create a treatment plan that works for you.

Cost of assessment:

There is a $350 +HST fee for data collection and administration of the questionnaires and collateral information requested prior to your assessment with the psychiatrist. The psychiatrist fees are covered through OHIP but you would pay for your sessions with the psychotherapist (step 2, 5 and 6 above) which can be covered if your benefits cover psychotherapy.

What You’ll Receive

  • A comprehensive ADHD evaluation
  • Treatment recommendations, including therapy and medication options
  • Coordinated communication between your therapist, psychiatrist, and family physician.
